Traveling to the US - the new requirement for negative COVID testing

New Requirement COVID testing

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued an Order on January 12, 2021 (effective January 26, 2021) requiring proof of a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 for all air passengers arriving from a foreign country to the US.

Under the rules, each passenger needs to bring a declaration to the airport. The airline needs to verify the negative test result prior to boarding and then retain the declaration form for two years. The passenger keeps the test result and needs to show it to public health officials on arrival if asked. We expect, airlines to announce detailed procedures soon.
